Winter season 2025-2026: the Portes du Soleil in great shape
Exceptional snow conditions
The 2025-2026 season is off to the best possible start: snowfall is above seasonal averages across the entire Portes du Soleil ski area. Conditions are ideal for skiers of all levels.
The ski area in numbers
The Portes du Soleil ski area offers:
- 600 km of slopes between France and Switzerland
- 196 ski lifts
- 12 resorts including Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets, Châtel, Champéry…
The 12 resorts span both France and Switzerland and are linked by a single ski pass. On the French side you will find Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets, Châtel and La Chapelle d'Abondance; on the Swiss side, Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins and Champoussin.
In terms of pistes, there are around 286 runs of all levels — a mix of green, blue, red and black, including highly challenging routes such as the "Mur Suisse" (Pas de Chavanette), considered one of the most difficult pistes in the world.
In summer, 24 lifts remain open from June to September for mountain biking and hiking, with several Bike Parks, downhill tracks, cross-country trails and numerous walking paths.
Approximately 1 hour from Geneva airport. Access is via the A40 motorway on the French side and the A9 on the Swiss side, with TGV stations nearby (Thonon, Cluses, Aigle, etc.).
From Abondance, the cable car of the Essert connects you directly to the Châtel ski area in under 20 minutes.
Our tips for planning your stay

After skiing, at the Les Touristes bistro
After a day on the slopes, nothing beats a mulled wine or a homemade hot chocolate at the hotel bar. Our team will prepare a hot drink, a cocktail or a soft drink from our selection of 13 artisan syrups.
The bar is open from 10am to 9:30pm — perfect for aperitifs or a last drink of the day.
See you on the slopes!
